Shawn Nelson a LIBERAL!? Talk about your Demon Sheep!

A slate mailer was dropped on Democratic households in Orange County on Friday from what sounds like a legitimate “LIBERAL” group, the John F. Kenedy Alliance. Of course, it is far from a liberal organization. In fact it is nothing more than a slate mail organization; that candidates use to reach democratic voters in an election in a cost effective way.

So we open up the mailer and we find something really surprising. There are a heck of a lot of Republicans recommended in this mailer.

All of the candidates with an * next to their names paid to be on the mailer. The others did not. They were selected by the slate mail organization in order to fill up the unpaid spots. No Democrat in an Orange County race paid to be on the slate. So the first thing I notice on the page below is the they cannot spell Phu Nguyen’s name right, then I find Shawn Nelson claimng to be a LIBERAL!!!

As you can plainly see above, Shawn Nelson paid  to be on this slate. Shawn (TEAbagger) Nelson paid to market himself as a liberal.  In fact, he paid $1,800 back in early April to have his picture and message to liberals prominately placed in the mailer.

In our research of the filings for the John F. Kennedy Alliance we found that Nelson knew before his vote on the Coyote Hills project that he would have to vote with the “liberals” against the Coyote project in order to have the record match his claim in this mailer. His vote had nothing to do with his claim that there were problems with the agreement or that he was philosophically against all of the concessions committees and staffers were “wrenching out” of the developers. His vote was simply a political stunt to deceive liberal voters; another dye job, if you will.

So if I wasn’t shocked enough by Shawn Nelson putting on liberal clothing, then I saw what was included as filler by the slate organization to attack Orange County Assessor Webster Guillory on behalf of Claude Parrish who managed to make the laughable claim in his statement that he is the “Choice of Orange County Democrats”.

Thanks for the mention guys, but I really don’t like being quoted out of context. But on the same page with Shawn Nelson dressed up in liberal-democrat drag; that’s just cruel.

Shawn Nelson a Liberal!? Now that IS a Demon Sheep.

  1. What is curious about all this are all the Republican slate mailers that Nelson passed on getting. What a mistaken campaign.

  2. ATTENTION; our Friends at Fullerton’s Lowest Common Denomnator Blog! I “borrowed” some copy from your website but edited a few points.

Your post said: “Two-faced Tom Daly is busy lying to voters and is trying to pass for a Republican in slate mailers”

My edits: “Two-faced Shawn Nelson is busy lying to voters and is trying to pass for a Democrat in slate mailers”

Your post said: “True, Tom has the right to buy any slate mailer he wants to but has he no loyalty to his fellow Democrats. There are plenty of slate mailers he can be on that are owned by Democrats but Team Tom Daly knows better. He knows Orange County is a majority Republican county so Team Daly opts to play a Republican. It appears that Daly is willing to do anything, including lying to voters to win this election. If I were a Democrat I would be fuming!”

I edited it to say: “True, Shawn has the right to buy any slate mailer he wants to but has he no loyalty to his fellow Republican/Conservative/Teabaggers. There are plenty of slate mailers he can be on that are owned by Republican Conservative Teabaggers but Team Shawn Nelson knows better. He knows The Fourht District has a lot of union Democratic households so Team Nelson opts to play a Liberal Democrat. It appears that Nelson is willing to do anything, including lying to voters to win this election. If I were a Republican Conservative Teabagger I would be fuming!

You post said: “Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, I believe you would vote for the candidate who represents your party’s values and for a candidate who is proud to be part of your party. Tom Daly fails both ways. Let’s send him a message and vote the opportunist career politician out of office”

I have one small edit: “Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, I believe you would vote for the candidate who represents your party’s values and for a candidate who is proud to be part of your party. Shawn Nelson fails both ways. Let’s send him a message and vote the opportunist career politician out of office.”

    Thanks fringers!

  3. This slate is selling the same candidates to everyone! The Reeps in my house got it as “California Law Enforcement Voter Guide” and my DTS kid got it as “Good Government Voter Guide.” They change the cover photo and some interior graphics and spew them for cash. No conspiracy, just a slate that figured out how to make money on everyone. Disgusting, true, but I do not know if the candidates even know that they are being packaged this way.

By the way, in 2008 we got a mailer with Republican stalwarts touting Galloway as “the Republican choice” or some such nonsense. Everyone is playing the game. It would stop if voters would take time to educate themselves.

  4. They have a great machine because the same group mailed one in Ventura County for the VERY right-wing Assembly person Audra Strickland. She is out of a job and needs to take the Dist 2 Supervisors seat [non-partisan] away from Linda Parks, also a Republican. Audra first filed for Sec of State and abandoned that and wanted to run for VC Treasurer but didn’t have the qualifications. Linda Parks voted to put the qualifications on the office.
