OK, so our April Fools Day Fun is over. Now for some real news. The OC Register has a report that Libreria Martinez is moving to the Artists Village.Â
I have long believed there should be an independent book store in the Artist’s Village. I am glad to see that is finally happening. Libreria Martinez will be a welcome addition to the Artist’s Village and I truly hope to see it do well. The reporter, Theresa Cisneros, who is an old friend from Santa Ana College explained really well some of the new features of the new Libreria Martinez.
One new aspect, which she only briefly touched upon is that this is a joint venture with another Santa Ana organization, the Academy of International Dance. They have located to the Artist’s Village at the same address, occupying the back of the store along with three dance classrooms. My daughter actually takes her Creative Dance class here and so I have known since January of this joint venture. I am excited to see it finally come to fruition.
The Artist’s Village has a great addition with an independent bookstore and a dance studio teaching the young in Santa Ana the value of the performing arts. I encourage you all to visit at 216 N. Broadway in Santa Ana.
