Rep. John Campbell “Forgets” He Represents Tustin and Irvine; The Feeling is Mutual

Rep. John Campbell (R-Irvine) sent an email to supports asking for them to help renominate him for another term in Congress and attached a PDF with instructions about what to do and how to do it.  Here’s the message from our Congressman:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during my tenure as your Representative in the United States Congress.  It is a great honor to serve the people of the 48th District in Washington, D.C.

As you may know, I am up for reelection this year, and I need your help.  In order to officially enter the Congressional race, I need to be nominated by citizens from my Congressional District.  I have attached a nomination form for you to sign.

In addition, it would help me tremendously if you would have 9 of your friends and/or relatives sign the form as well.  Please mail your form back with 1 to 10 signatures by February 15th.

Thank you very much for helping me with this!   I am grateful for your friendship, and  I appreciate all that you do for me.

Until my next communication, I remain respectfully,

Campbell attached a PDF with simple instructions.  And it includes a helpful list of cities in CD-48.  It features Santa Ana Heights, which is not really a city.  Same goes for Foothill Ranch.  But there’s something missing here.  See if you can spot it.

Where’s Tustin?

And where’s Irvine?

That’s OK Congressman.  Many residents of the two largest cities in your district are used to being ignored while Washington takes our tax dollars and you do nothing to bring back a single dollar in return.  Isn’t Campbell supposed to be an accoutant? Someone with a “Green eyeshade blog” should have attention to detail, shouldn’t they?  How could they forget Tustin and Irvine?

We have emails out to some community leaders in Tustin and Irvine asking for reaction, and we’ll update this as they come in.

But you can be sure that Beth Krom won’t forget Irvine or Tustin.

  1. In addition to not knowing cities in his district, John Campbell is apparently not up on the requirements to be elected to the US House of Representatives.

He does not NEED to be nominated by a great number of citizens in his Congressional District – the requirement is a minimum of 40 such nomination signatures.

He does not NEED any additional petition signatures if he or his campaign would pay the $1,740.00 filing fee.

Campbell (and possibly his campaign) could afford that fee. This seems hardly worth a letter to his constituents and certainly not worth the effort he is likely to put a number of his constituents through.

And don’t try to get an appointment to see Congressman Campbell, or even a legislative aide, in his DC office – I am a constituent, travel to DC yearly, and have not been able to see anyone in his office since he was elected.

    John Campbell, the invisible man.

  2. Hw just wants to use those names on list for his campaign and does not want to have to pay the fee, The COB, cheap old b****** does not respond to his constituents needs, he stays secluded in his house in shady canyon and does not meet with his constituents……..he only represents himself….
