This came over the wire. Orange County’s best Congressmember and defender of the common person, Loretta Sanchez (D-Santa Ana), will be addressing the Orange County Forum Luncheon this Friday, September 18th. You can find out more information www.ocforum.org.
Loretta Sanchez, who bravely stood up against bailing out the haves by voting against TARP just one year ago will be talking about the current state of the economy and the road to recovery. It should be insightful to hear what she has to say. She is definitely the best Congressmember Santa Ana has ever had if not all Orange County. For over 12 years now, she is still going strong, representing us well and fighting for her constituents tooth and nail.
I really hope certain people are going to post about Loretta’s lack of properer residency… haha.
You should probably do a little research and fact check those Red County sources of yours.
I’ve known Loretta and her family for many years.
She resided in the district well before being elected to Congress.
When she comes home from DC on weekends, she comes home to Central OC.
You are quite desperate to use baseless allegations to try to prop up your sinking argument.
Let’s see if someone asks her about her refusal to co-sponsor the DREAM Act…
If the real goal is to get the legislation PASSED, shouldn’t they be satisfied for her agreement to vote for it when/if it reaches the floor?
That’s the thing, Steve. There’s no guarantee it’ll even make it to a vote. Her endorsement would be crucial toward that goal, and that she refuses to do so speaks volumes about her true worth. But, hey: she’s light-skinned and makes it a point of repeating that again and again. Go Loretta!
Taxpayers paid $100,000 for Loretta Sanchez South Pole snorkeling vacation
They went diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also rode a cable car through the Australian rain forest, visited a penguin rookery and flew to the South Pole. The 11-day trip — with six spouses traveling along as well — took place over New Year’s 2008. Details are only now coming to light as part of a Wall Street Journal analysis piecing together the specifics of the excursion.
That is Taxpayer’s money !

Gustavo, I think some more research on your part is needed if your reasoning behind her lack of sponsorship is her skin tone, seems to lack substance.
Her seat is not safe, and even so, she has agreed to support the Dream Act. A quick glance at the sponsorship list shows entrenched Dems in extremely safe seats. The handful of Republicans that are sponsoring are mostly retiring the rest in Democratic communities. This vitriol for Loretta, even though she IS voting for the act seems illogical from a political perspective. If they had a lick of political sense they would use their energy against the OTHER 5 OC congressman, none of which are supporting the Dream act. But no, lets focus on the vote we already have!
