After more than $2 million in wasted taxpayer dollars the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 Tuesday to continue their useless bid to have the pension benefits for Orange County Deputy Sheriff’s declared unconstitutional. These so-called fiscal conservatives are okay with spending millions of dollars on a lawsuit that has failed at every turn in court in the hopes that they will achieve a big $187 million payoff.
They are okay with cutting public services to protect children from abuse, while they gamble away on a losing bet. Years ago the leader of this Charge of the Light Brigade, Supervisor John Moorlach, railed against lawsuit abuse. For him, lawsuits are bad unless they are paid for with your tax dollars to pick a political fight with the Sheriff Deputies union that opposed his election as Second District Supervisor.
The only sane one in the bunch is First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen. She can see and read the writing on the wall. She has recognized that her job is to spend our tax dollars wisely, not throw money at out of state law firms that know nothing about California Law.
So here we go again. The self proclaimed saviours of the taxpayers spend more money chasing the dream of a big pay day. Our odds would be better if they took a couple million dollars to Vegas and bet it all on red at the Roulette table at Caesars.

On this particular matter Janet Nguyen made the right decision. Every once in a while even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
I criticized her and the rest of her colleagues when she sided with the lawsuit. It would be inconsistent not to mention her positive step in the right direction on this matter.
