The Orange County Register has this story up on their main page. Initially I saw the story this morning about power being knocked out for 300 Westminster homes and didn’t read any further. My bad. Turns out the alleged drunk driver who hit the power pole last night was Westminster Councilman Andy Quach.
Westminster councilman arrested on suspicion of DUI
Andy Quach says he’ll ‘take full responsibility’ for crash that knocked out power to 300 homes.WESTMINSTER –City Councilman Andy Tuan Ngoc Quach was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after police say he slammed into a power pole, knocking out power to more than 300 homes in his city.
The collision occurred at about midnight Saturday when Quach, 37, who has served seven years on the Westminster City Council, drove his black S550 Mercedes-Benz into a power pole in the 8800 block of McFadden Avenue, police officials said.
Emergency power crews from Southern California Edison have been working at the location since the accident and expect to restore power by midafternoon, Westminster police Lt. Kevin Parker said. Read the rest of the story here.
I wonder, is Andy going to take responsibility for all the spoiled food his driving caused?
