Authority to settle case granted to county lawyers in lawsuit by former lawman George Jaramillo

Orange County supervisors have signaled an intent to offer some sort of settlement to former Assistant Sheriff George Jaramillo, who was fired in 2004 just before his indictment by a grand jury on public corruption charges.

Jaramillo pleaded no contest in 2007 to perjury and misuse of public funds and accepted a year-long jail sentence.
The announcement from the board of supervisors came on Tuesday after a closed session, with the county clerk stating “by a unanimous vote, the board provided staff with settlement authority in the case of George Jaramillo vs. the County of Orange.” Details of the offer were not announced and county officials declined comment on what was being offered.

Well, at least there is one loosing battle these morons on the Board of Supervisors are willing to settle. To bad it isn’t their multi-million dollar gambling shot at reducing Sheriff deputy pension benefites. The case has been thrown out two times but odds are, they will appeal and ultimately spend millions more in outside legal fees on their fools errand.
that picture says it all he’s probably whispering in coronas ear about a hot woman in the audience. i’m glad these losers went down but to pay jaramillo off like this is just criminal. i cant for the life of me understand this. i will say the guy has some balls even asking for money i guess it’s gonna pay off for him.
