A Love Note from a TeaBagging Republican

Marty Wisckoll from the Register was kind enough to quote me in his story about the Tax Party in Santa Ana; here’s a link to Marty’s story.

My quote prompted one right wing teabagger to write me at my business email.  I’ve left his name out.  But I do love fan mail.

“But the situation we’re in is the result of eight years of Republican policy.” (my quote! DC)

“Are you really that ignorant to think this crisis is the fault of only one political party.

I really feel sorry for morons like you, who get their current events from “The Daily Show” and think they that qualifies them as knowledgeable. You obviously don’t know squat.” — His quote.

I rarely watch the Daily Show but do read four newspapers every morning (the Wall Street Journal, the Register, and the LA Times and NY Times). I also read a number of right wing blogs and lefty blogs, and do listen to a fair amount of talk radio from the left and right (Yes, Rush Limbaugh is a bag of hot gas).

I’d like to think I’m pretty well informed.  So to play the assumption game my fan played with me, I’m going to guess he’s a Rush listening/Fox News is fair and balanced/and its all the fault of Obama that the economy suddenly went South.  Fact is, the terms of most of the bailout were set up by the Bush Administration.  75 percent of the money sent to bail out to AIG has a Bush Administration signature on them.  And where was this guy when Bush, DeLay and the GOP spent money like drunken sailors in TJ on a Sayurday night?

  1. And where was this guy when Bush, DeLay and the GOP spent money like drunken sailors in TJ on a Sayurday night?

More than likely he (or she) was claiming folks critical of Bush’s were unamerican or traitors. We should be united behind the president because there are troops in harm’s way and our being fragmented only emboldened our enemies.

Funny how that mindset changed after last Jan. 20.
