From Norberto Santana over at Total Buzz.
Scores of senior citizens were out in force this morning in front of the Hall of Adminstration in Santa Ana protesting recent cuts to the county Social Services Agency and the unwillingness of board supervisors to trim their perks.
Nearly 50 seniors came out to the protest, organized by the Orange County Employees Association and the Orange County Democratic Party.
County supervisors cut about 200 jobs from the Social Services Agency in January. Since then, the union has held numerous protests and hearings, run television ads and even packed the supervisors’ offices on the fifth floor of the Hall of Adminsitration to protest cuts and the board’s continuing perks.
We hope to have a video report from the event by Reggie at some point on Wednesday, March 4th.
