Have you seen “Milk” yet? I haven’t. But you know what? I so want to see this film! After the disappointing election results last month, I need some inspiration as we now move to overturn H8.
Now come on, I know you need some inspiration, too. That’s why I’m hosting OC’s very own “MILK + Love” event sponsored by Courage Campaign! We’ll be doing the 1:00 PM screening of “Milk” this Saturday, then we’ll be doing something afterward that would make “The Mayor of Castro Street” awfully proud. After the film, we’ll be marching over the corner of Bear & South Coast at South Coast Plaza to join the local “Light up the Night for Equality” vigil there. Harvey Milk said that “you gotta give ’em hope”, so we’ll be out to show some hope for 2009 as the Supreme Court meets & plans are drawn to win at the ballot box in 2010.
So if you want to watch “Milk” with me, please come to the Regency South Coast Plaza at 1651 W Sunflower Ave at 1:00 PM. Oh yes, and please RSVP at Courage Campaign to let me know you’re coming. And if you can’t make the movie, just show up at the vigil at Bear & South Coast between 4:30 & 5:00 PM. I hope to see you here on Saturday, and let’s go out & make equality happen!
