In case you missed it, OC Register surfing columnist Corky Carroll tried to navigate the political world yesterday. Specifically, the world-famous surfer gave a ringing endorsement of Dana. Why? Well, because he’s “cool” to be around with and he can ride waves. Wow.
But what about protecting beaches like Trestles? What about keeping the ocean clean? What about protecting our planet from the climate crisis? On the big environmental issues that matter to surfers, Dana Rohrabacher has consistently been AGAINST real solutions to these real problems.
But hey, I guess that doesn’t matter any more. Nope, because Dana’s a gnarly dude, Corky Carroll’s impressed. And if that’s how he decides how to vote, that’s his choice.
I’d just hope that most voters in the 46th District make their decision by actually considering who will do
Corky reinforces all the negative stereotypes of surfers.
