Hey, you! Yes, you! Are you looking to celebrate the 4th of July in style? And if so, would you also like to do something that will make a difference?

Great! They why don’t you follow me after the flip to find out what you can do to truly celebrate our independence…

OK, here’s the lowdown on how you can make a difference by marching with OC Democrats in the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade!

For the past 29 years, the Orange County Democratic Party has been represented in the 4th of July Huntington Beach Parade. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Former Senator Joe Dunn, Senator Lou Correa have all been showcased in the parade along with our wonderful Young Democrats. The parade is a wonderful opportunity to show that the Democratic Party is alive and well in Orange County! The parade begins at 10:00 A.M. and ends at 12:30 P.M. Democrats begin gathering at 7:30 A.M. to march. We will have shuttle cars to take you to the staging area or to the handicap cheering section.Loretta Sanchez Shuttle Starts: 7:00 A.M. Last Shuttle: 9:00 A.M. Please come early, the traffic gets very busy and we cannot transport everyone at the last minute For parking and shuttling, drive to Seacliff Village, located at Goldenwest and Yorktown. Look for the Del Taco fast food restaurant. Then look for the signs saying “Democratic Parking”.

Parade Rules:

And after the parade… We hit the beach! with our Obama gear on and register voters, We can work in small groups and the Idea is to have a great day at the beach as well as register voters in selected staging areas. We will have shifts: 9-12, 12-4 & 4-7PM. If you’ll be doing an early shift, we will meet at Debbie Cook’s Office and have voter registration training, and then go to a location. Please invite your friends to the beach for this fun & productive day. Celebrate our Independence & Keep it alive at the same time! No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. Call Erik Sjobeck at 949-981-3690 if you’d like to help with voter registration after the parade.

  1. Yeah I went and got this cool blue Preamble-to-the-Constituion shirt just for the event! I think they just copy/pasted most of that announcment.

Loretta will be there in her red skirt again this year, she promised me.

Debbie Cook is going to be riding in a horse-drawn carriage, with her family and a couple military guys. Dana will be following soon after. I wonder what Debbie’s horses will eat.

Early morning Freeway Blogging comes first though.

  2. Hey Vern Nelson,
Maybe Debbies horses will eat Liberals. But then that would make them sick.
