SD 33: Mimi Walters on Education- Public Schools Need Competition!

“It gives parents an alternative when the public school isn’t meeting their needs. In fact, I have introduced legislation on behalf of the charter school…and…legislation that’s been able to make them more competitive with the public schools and I’m very proud to say that the Charter Schools association has made me their legislator of the year in 2006.”

Remember when Asm. Mimi Walters (R-Far Right) endorsed the effort to recall two members if the Capistrano Unified School Board earlier this week? I’m sure she wants us to know how much she cares about the education of our children. It’s just too bad for her that we remember what she told GOP primary voters how she really feels about public schools.

Klassy, ain’t it?

I just wonder how much thought the Honorable Mimi Walters put into her decision to endorse the CUSD Recall. I mean, it’s not like she supports meaningful investment in our kids’ education if they happen to (gasp!!) attend public schools. After all, those lame public schools just need more “competition” from the private sector.

  1. The lame public schools do not need competition. The lame public schools need to be disbanded. They are designed to educate last century’s industrial revolution worker drones.. And they don’t even do a good job at that. Shut them down and start over. Couldn’t be any worse.

  2. If public schools are so “lame” then why do Republicans have to pass legislation to help private schools compete with them? The whole point of private schools is that they are able to suposedly much better than public educations without any help from tax payer dollars.

So people who support less Government only want more Government when it helps their pet causes? Okay.
