Help Equality for All Stop Legalized Discrimination This Weekend!

Remember what I told you last week about that horrible same-sex marriage ban that the extreme right wants to put on our November ballot? Well, guess what? They’re still working their hardest to get enough signatures to qualify this legalized discrimination measure for a November vote.

So what can we all do to stop this madness? What can we do to ensure that California moves forward toward more equality for LGBT people instead of backwards toward more discrimination? Well, why not join the Equality for All coalition for a special leadership meeting this Saturday? Here’s where you can learn what we can do to stop this dangerous intiative.

Equality for All Leadership Meetings

Saturday at 10:00 am

1700 East Garry Ave, Ste. 120
Santa Ana, CA 92705

To RSVP for the leadership meeting then contact Sarah Scanlon (sarah.scanlon@hrc.org) at 202- 459-3298 or Terry McGuire (Terry.mcguire@hrc.org) at 202-294-0784.

So do you care about the fight for equality in California? Do you eventually want to see marriage equality become law instead of legalized inequality? Do you believe LGBT people deserve the same civil rights afforded to everyone else? Great, then let’s get working to make sure we can continue fighting for progress here in California!

We’ll see you at the meeting on Saturday. 🙂

  1. I would love to attend this Andrew! As an ally I think this is a huge issue that needs to be addressed sooner than later. In the past, as you know, measures like this were more useful to drive conservatives to the polls rather than passing legislation, but to me the motivation doesn’t matter, homophobia used for any purpose is still, homophobia.

Sadly, Charlotte has ballet. Maybe at least Gary or I can attend this important meeting. I am pro gay marriage and as far as I know, Gary is for civil unions but his position could have evolved since the last time we spoke. Either way, this is just more useless legislation from the right that serves no purpose other to discriminate.

  2. Would this event include those who want to legalize marriage between a human and an animal?

  3. Centaurs-

Wow. I don’t even know how to respond. Do you even know if you have a point there?

    Heather-

Fantastic! We always love us some straight but not narrow-minded allies. 😉

See the contact info above if you’d like to attend, and please let all your friends in South County know that Equality for All needs help to defeat this idiotic initiative.

  4. I just wanted to let folks know that you can also sign up online to be part of the “quick response” network. The link is http://ga1.org/EFA/join.tcl.

We have seen signature gatherers all over Orange County and want to make sure that we have enough volunteers trained to educate the public on the issue before the sign the initiative.

If you see a signature gatherer, feel free to drop me an email at the address in the message above.

That is quite a leap there. Guess you must have come from the Rick Santorum School of Ignorance.

Reading that post by you it appears that you finished at the top of your class.

  6. Centaurs For Equality – Equating beastiality to homosexuality is beyond the pale. Your short but ugly post shows that you are ignorant and homophobic. I’d like to add, I agree with what Sean said as well.

  7. Bestiality and NAMBLA – hilarious, Centaur.
How about an original, LOGICAL argument?

    what a horse’s ass

Classic. So is that where Centaur is sticking his head? 😉

    Bill-

    Haha. What words of wisdom.

    Centaur-

Feel good now? That homophobia really doesn’t look good on you.
