Santiago Fire UPDATE: Fire Reaches Silverado, Firefighters Prepare in Riverside County

The Orange County Fire Authority & The Register are reporting that active fire is now in Silverado Canyon. Firefighters reiterate that evacuation is mandatory and re-entry is prohibited. Check OCFA’s web site for more info on the fire.

Meanwhile, firefighters have begun staging in Riverside County.
While Riverside does not face an immediate threat from the Santiago Fire, firefighters are now in the Temescal Valley area south of Corona to prepare should the fire reach this far east. However, no evacuation orders have been issued in Temescal Valley.

Two hotlines have been set up for Temescal Valley residents, 951-817-5800 or 951-940-6895, for updates from the Riverside County Fire Department on the Santiago Fire. And in the mean time, all Orange County residents in need of info on the fire can check the US Forest Service’s fire info site or call the info hotline at (714) 628-7085. Oh yes, and please stay tuned here at The Liberal OC for further updates on the fire.
