Jenna Bush is engaged! So we could have the first White House wedding since the Nixon administration.
WASHINGTON (CNN)  President and Laura Bush’s daughter, Jenna, is engaged to be married, the White House announced Thursday.
Jenna Bush, 25, is marrying Henry Hager, 28, a former White House aide who used to work with Karl Rove, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Business, according to the Associated Press. Henry Hager’s father, John, is the chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, and the former lieutenant governor of Virginia.
The two met during the 2004 presidential campaign, but were not first spotted together until the president’s inauguration in 2005, according to Style Magazine.
The first lady’s office tells CNN the proposal occurred last night. The two are currently vacationing together in Maine.
No word if Hager asked the president for permission before the proposal.
No wedding date has been set.

Must say I’m impressed by her beer-handling skills on the dance floor.
Allen,
You know what cracks me up about conservatives like yourself? Folks like you put forth this belief that anyone can grow up to be president. Sooooo….an individual of what can best be described as humble beginnings does exactly that and leads the nation to the greatest era of peace time prosperity in the nation’s history. Only to be attacked by people like you as white trash. At the same time conservatives continually assault the nation’s educational system as being inferior or broken or whatever. Even though this individual (despite his austere origins) is a Rhodes Scholar.
And instead of realizing this individual is everything they claim to embrace they do just the opposite and attack him regularly. Then the next thing we know conservatives are supporting someone who has intellectual ability (Bush’s SAT scores are at least an indicator of potential) but who continually skewers the english language despite claims that he is a voracious leader. This same person has instituted a foreign policy that is a disaster, and a fiscal policy that has left us vulnerable to the economic hegemony of borderline hostile nations (all while in possession of an Ivy League MBA). While coming from a background that would be considered privileged by all but the likes of the Sultan of Brunei. Yet conservatives worship the guy. Go figure.
Allen, isn’t it time for you to run back to your blog and start talking about Antonio’s pee pee parts? Having your faces planted in the pants of others is the only thing people like you do well. All while claiming that one’s personal life is none of anyone else’s business.
Folks — lets leave the name calling to the Jon Flieschman’s of the world (Hillaryzilla, o’Bambi are two recent examples).
Jenna is a party girl, but don’t call her any name you wouldn’t call your own daughter. Or mother.
P-R-E-G-N-A-N-T.
Oh, a child out of wedlock; what will the Christian right say? And will anyone notice the big black hem on her dress?
Hey, why aren’t these girls serving our country in Iraq?
