The Moorlach Ness Monster raises his ugly head

Moorlach Ness MonsterI figured it would happen sometime, I just didn’t think it would happen so soon.  2nd District Supervisor John Moorlach has taken his feud with the Sherrif’s Deputies to a new level.  A new level that could cost the tax payers millions of dollars in legal fees.

Rumor has it that Moorlach, henceforth to be known as “Nessie,” is proposing to take a 1/3 bite out of Deputy Sherrif’s pension benefits. He seems to believe the current benefit structure, approved by the Board of Supervisors five years ago, was eiher illegal or unconstitutional.

Note to Nessie:

Pension benefits for public employees are vested once they are established and cannot be taken away. Sorry Nessie, you don’t get to do over the previous decision now that you have your big chair in the Board Hearing Room.

I have to admit though, this is a good way to get your name in the papers. Media Whore?

  1. Haha! Moorlach is pretty monstrous when he tries to take away our deputy sheriffs’ pensions. I guess he can’t stand the thought of brave police officers having a little something to keep them alive after retirement.
