Today Orange County Register investigative reporters Tony Saavedra and Teri Sforza delivered a follow-up to their report on the Orange County Boy Scouts vacation “Conference” at a Key West, FL resort in January of this year.
Today were learn that the Boy Scouts of America Orange County Council sent out letters HERE to 40,000 volunteers and supporters apologizing for “mistakes” related to the January trip. We’ve been following this story, here and here, since the Register first reported on it. In fact, we’re the only Orange County blog that devoted significant coverage to the topic. We have questioned why the Register’s Steven Greenhut and Red County/OCBlog’s Matt Cunninham, both vocal supporters of the Boy Scouts, have failed to comment on their blogs about the story HERE:
You can read the complete OCRegister story here:
I fully expect that Steven and Matt will crow about the Scouts’ apology and how they should now be forgiven for their mistake, one which they would not be apologizing for if they had not been caught. We are now at 11 days without a response from Steven and Matt, but enquiring minds still want to know…

Chris:
Maybe you ought to read what I write before you attack me for not writing something.
Here is a link from June 12 about the Boy Scouts, in which I accuse leaders of dishonoring the organization.
Steven
My apologies Steven, I really did miss your post. Thanks for posting the link.
I stand corrected and thanks for calling them out.
I also did one this morning. I even called (in the June 12 post) for Les “lives like a” Baron to resign!
Chris:
I don’t mean to be a pest here, but since your main post is about “9 days and counting” without a response from me, and since I have shown that I responded to the story (without your prompting, I might add) seven days ago, shouldn’t you address that in the main post? Although I do so like having my picture on your Web site!
Steven
Sorry for the delay Steven, typing a post on my phone is a bit slow. Once I found out about my error I started writing my post. 🙂
Thanks!
