I’m watching the fire rage in Anaheim Hills and measuring how far it is from my Irvine home. I am amazed by the performance of the firefighters and the police who have done a remarkable job getting residents evacuated.ÂÂ
Thank you for your great work.
And a small part of me wonders if Steven Greenhut still thinks these professionals are overpaid for putting their lives on the line?
Just wondering, how much money it would take to look an inferno in the eye. Just wondering….
Are you aware that many firefighters from cities in O.C. are out there helping to stop that blaze? The mutual aid agreements bring in firefighters from all over CA, as well as some other States, when we have major problems. Our local guys are trained to do wild lands firefighting and are part of the Strike Teams sent to the major blazes.
I have to believe this fire is a full court press. I admire the work firefighters do and think it takes a lot of guts to do what they do.
Little Stevie would soil himself in about two minutes if he dealt with the things firefighters and police experience daily.
As one of the families that experienced mandatory evacuation last Sunday due to the fire I am so very greatful for all the help the fire departments gave us. It is not easy to evacuate with 2 horses, 4 dogs and one pissed off cat.
Orange Fire Dept. ROCKS! They saw the fire coming down the canyon and foamed my neighbor’s house, then went inside and waited for the fire to pass over them. They saved the house. Not many people have to be THAT brave in their jobs.

One can almost palpate the disappointment in Greenhut’s not being able to write something negative about firefighters in light of their actions this past week.
