Did the truth come out Denis?

Today marked the beginning of Denis Bilodeau’s trial. Bilodeau is the Republican City Councilman from Orange that was videotaped removing his opponent’s political signs back in November. He faces charges of misdemeanor petty theft and malicious mischief or vandalism.

To many, this is a non-issue. The dude just tore down a couple of signs…no biggie, right? What I’m more concerned with is what Bilodeau did when the Orange Police Officer showed up at his door: he lied.

“I’ve been sitting here all night,” he told the cop. “Just thumbing my bible, highlighting my favorite passages.” (The quotes might not be exact. I’m just trying to recreate what I remember from the police report.)

Before you rush to Bilodeau’s defense, ask yourself if integrity is worth anything.

In December, Bilodeau told the Orange County Register that he was eager to get his trial started. “I’m looking forward to the truth coming out and moving forward,” Bilodeau said.

If the “truth” doesn’t come out, Bilodeau faces a maximum sentence of six months in jail.

  1. seriously, did he claim to be reading his bible?

that is awesome. you know.. like god. or so the bumper sticker says.

  2. Get some info correct…1st Bilodeau doesn’t own a bible and the other fact…the case was continued it hasn’t even seen the inside of a court room yet. Also my ubderstandin is that Carol Rudat is asking for a change in courts, to have moived to harbor Court in Newport Beach, so its a shorter drive from her home for her.

  3. Jesse,

Since you write here that I need to talk in facts, and not speculate for humor’s sake, I have to ask where it is that you heard that the trial will be moved to be loser to Carol’s house in Newport.

    Nice try.

    Mike
