Secretary McPherson has announced that, “he will be issuing an official, non-partisan voter education letter to Latino voters who recently received a letter attempting to intimidate them.” The release goes on to say, “The letter will be sent out next week and will go to each voter affected by the recent attempt to intimidate voters in Orange County. It will contain information regarding the laws for voting eligibility and participation. The letter will meet all the legal requirements for state mailings and will not contain the name or signature of Secretary McPherson.”
Which is more than we can say for the Republican majority on the Board of Supervisors. It seems that Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley was already in the process of doing this, which is his job, when the Board majority, under the cover of their CEO Thomas Mauk, nixed the idea.
So much for the non-partisan indignation over Tan’s stupidity. Wow, that didn’t last much more than a day. These buffoons should be ashamed of themselves.
Whoever it was; Campbell, Norby, Silva, or Wilson who interfered directly in the operations of the Registrar of Voters office for partisan gain, they should resign.
I hope the letter Bruce is sending will be in both English and Spanish.
Campbell, Norby, Silva, or Wilson;
the Red County’s own DennY H?!
delightful
Hey Bruce make sure you tell them(just like Tan’s letter) they have to be citizens of the US to vote.
