Tonight I participated in a conference call to discuss California’s Proposition 89 – the California Clean Money and Fair Elections Act. The call was aimed at California bloggers and was hosted by Joe Trippi (joetrippi.com) and Bob Brigham (proposition89.blogspot.com).
I’ve stated my personal position on this proposition previously (say that three times fast), and I wanted to reiterate it after this call.
Proposition 89 is going to do to elections what blogs have done to the mediaâ€â€level the playing field and make sure that anyone that wants to participate in the process has a fair chance of getting heard.. Click Here to see a PDF file of ten great reasons to vote for 89.
If the above PDF file had a #11, it should be that there are so many greedy organizations and individuals that have come out against Prop. 89. Just look at these two lists of endorsements:
Which list would you rather be on? Clearly, the people and organizations on the right hand of this list are gong to put up some big money to try to fight this. That’s why the CleanMoneyElections.org folks are putting together a ridiculous rap video that will hopefully catch some people’s eyes.
The video is of Colette Washington, and this is a non-traditional approach to getting the word out. CleanMoneyElections.org is hoping that word about this silly song will spread throughout the internet and produce spin-offs and remixes.
The video will be released in the next few days, but here’s a quick preview:
If clean money results in more rap videos like this, than consider me against prop 89.
Hahahaha…. Touché!
