Yesterday, Norberto Santana, Jr. of the Voice of Orange County wrote a story Controversy Surrounds a Now-Silent Little Saigon Radio Show that reported on a radio show on Vietnamese language radio that has gone slient because of a mysterious requirement allegedly imposed on all program producers preventing criticism of individuals or public officials. Supreme Court Strikes Down Anti-Animal Cruelty Law
The Supreme Court struck down a federal law banning depictions of animal cruelty on Tuesday. The 1999 Depiction of Animal Cruelty Act was too broad allowing for prosecution of even hunting magazines. The Humane Society intends to pass a more targeted law to stop the commercialization of animal cruelty.
