Orange County is one of the most pivotal electoral battlegrounds in the nation as Democrats struggle to maintain majorities in the State Assembly and Congress. Despite minimal support from the Democratic Party leadership, Orange County has great potential to fare well in the November elections. The Obama 2008 campaign did better in Orange County than any other Democratic presidential candidate in history, raising eyebrows among some party activists.

“We just learned that the Federal Election Commission (FEC) has ordered the Orange County Republican Party to return monies given to them by their state party,” says Frank Barbaro, Chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County. “Voters should be appalled that the GOP won’t follow the law.”
It isn’t often that we agree with Register Columnist Frank Mickadeit on this blog. But in this case we find ourselves in that position. On Tuesday Mickadeit’s column titled ‘Watermelon man’ gets GOP nod caught our eye.
UPDATED: Rep. Loretta Sanchez talked with Chris Matthews on Hardball tonight on MSNBC. She talked about a decision by Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, and other big health insurers’ decision to stop selling policies to children rather than comply with the new health care law that bars them from denying coverage to kids with preexisting conditions.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Van Tran and other California state legislators are working overtime – but not to solve the state’s yawning budget crisis. Instead, Tran and others are busy pocketing millions in campaign donations.
On November 2nd, I truly hope the people of Santa Ana have a revolution at the ballot booth and boot Pulido from office. Then, and only then, will many of the South County and Hills Democrats open their eyes and see for themselves the real Pulido, a man more concerned with the perks of office and impressing his buddies in South County and The Hills than taking care of the people he was entrusted to care for.
