It seems that Congressional candidate Cecilia Iglesias, and Santa Ana City Councilman Sal Tinajero have a few things in common. Both of them have endorsed Art Pedroza for Santa Ana Unified School District Trustee and both of them are parents of 7 to 8 year-old male children. Art Pedroza thinks that men having sex with young boys is funny. He finds the topic so humorous that he linked unsuspecting visitors to his Orange Juice Blog to the main page of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).

“While Van Tran was avoiding votes on an important anti-trafficking bill, Congresswoman Sanchez was introducing tough new legislation to combat child trafficking and exploitation in the U.S. and abroad,” said Jessica Mejia, the campaign manager for the Committee to Re-Elect Loretta Sanchez. “Our opponent can talk about human rights all he wants, but his paltry record on this issue speaks for itself. Rep. Sanchez has spent the last fourteen years supporting legislation to promote human rights, as well as strengthen education, cut taxes for the middle class, and increase lending to small businesses – issues that are particularly important to her Vietnamese constituents.”
The Committee to Re-Elect Loretta Sanchez today announced that it will hold a campaign rally featuring President Bill Clinton on Friday, October 15, beginning at 3:00pm PST. The rally, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the Old Orange County Courthouse, located at 211 West Santa Ana Boulevard, in downtown Santa Ana.

TheLiberalOC learned on Wednesday afternoon that Santa Ana City Attorney Joseph Fletcher has referred the matter of improper votes by Council members Sal Tinajero, Michele Martinez, and Claudia Alvarez to the Orange County District Attorney for review. The votes in question appear to violate Santa Ana Municipal Code section 2-107.
It has been an interesting week, to say the least!!! I spent that Saturday Night dropping by a Community Meet and Greet for the Capistrano Candidates. It is great that the grass root support is starting to build up in a major way. For those who have been driving around town, the signs have been springing up everywhere. It appears that the opposition seems to be silent. As the discourse continued, someone handed me an email from one of the current incumbents. It touted how they were “conservative” and “for reform”, while the current slate was “Pro-Union”. They seemed to forget that two of the key players have Union Support and that the focus had to be on the kids. It was still interesting reading, though.
