The Orange County Young Democrats yesterday voted to endorse local Democrats who are running for local office. At last night’s endorsement meeting in Orange, dozens […]
Earlier this evening, the Democratic Party of Orange County made their endorsements for the local offices in Orange County. The most controversial was the Santa Ana Mayor’s race between Miguel Pulido and Alfredo Amezcua. Unfortunately, Endorsement Committee Chair Florice Hoffman decided to give the proverbial middle finger to Democracy and rig the vote for Mayor Pulido.
Tracy Wood over at the Voice of OC has found out from the City of Santa Ana the “supposed” reasonwhy Santa ana Mayor Miguel Pulido […]
Santa Ana’s Mayor, Miguel Pulido, has been around a while. He was elected to the Santa Ana City Council in 1986 and as Mayor in 1994. One thing Pulido has learned very well is how to get whatever he can for himself out of the job. During his time as a member of the Council and Mayor, Pulido has managed to get himself appointed to numerous committees and commissions throughout the county. All of these committees compensate their members with a variety of per-diems, insurance, cars, car allowances.
In another demonstration of their flair for distraction from their own mistakes, the Santa Ana City Council is again using the power to remove members of city commissions as a diversion. This time they needed a way do distract from their collective failure to stop Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez from violating the right of Albert Castillo to address his grievances to his elected officials. The action by Claudia Alvarez has drawn the attention of the Attorney General’s office.
Here you have Mayor Pulido, letting a rogue Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez run public comment, along with the entire purpose of the Brown Act (Accountability) into the ground while he is sitting there playing a fiddle or something. Note to the Santa Ana City Council; If you can’t handle a little public criticism you’re in the wrong fracking business.
From day one, I had a feeling someone other than Alfredo Amezcua and Mayor Miguel Pulido would throw their hat into the ring for Mayor of Santa Ana despite having virtually no chance. That has happened, with Charles Hart, a resident of the Riverview neighborhood.
Art Pedroza has declared an end to the Orange County blogs wars and made himself a martyr to the cause. While it’s all great […]
