The inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Festival was a huge success.
The photos from the event were amazing, the shows were amazing, and the parking/exits to leave could use some work. But host Olivia Rodrigo wrapped up the event with a “see you next year” to cheers. And $20 million raised for charities the benefit women and local non-profits with Melinda French Gates doubling the $10 million raised by the show’s host.
I saw a few social media posts by our current Irvine city council members about how wonderful the event was and what a great time they had; also noted they were “No” votes when it came to working with LiveNation, the parent company of the subsidiary who ran Daisy Chain Fields.
But hey Irvine, do you want more talented events like this past weekend’s or are you OK with Air Supply performing with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra? Time to get back to the table and renegotiate a new deal that’s better for Irvine even if it does favor Live Nation.
