IRVINE, CA — Today, Congressman Adam Schiff announced he is endorsing Dave Min for California’s 47th Congressional District, providing yet another jolt of momentum for Min in one of the nation’s most-watched congressional races. Schiff’s endorsement, coming from one of the most prominent and respected figures in the Democratic Party, highlights the critical importance of this race, not just for California but for control of the House of Representatives.
“As we face one of the most consequential elections in our history, the choice for California’s 47th could not be clearer,” said Congressman Adam Schiff. “From his time prosecuting corporate fraud at the SEC to his tenure in the California State Senate, Dave Min has been committed to the principles of justice, equality, and the protection of our planet. His dedication to the well-being of his constituents and his vision of a more inclusive and prosperous future are exactly what we need in Congress at this critical moment.”
Dave Min, whose career has been defined by his commitment to public service and his advocacy for progressive values, has emerged as a leading voice for change in one of the country’s most closely contested districts. With a track record of legislative achievements in the California State Senate, Min has been at the forefront of efforts to combat climate change, ensure reproductive rights, promote gun safety, and fight for economic justice
“To have the support of Congressman Adam Schiff, a true champion for our democracy and someone who has tirelessly worked to hold those in power accountable, is incredibly humbling,” said Min. “This race is about more than just one district; it’s about the future direction of our country. I am committed to fighting for the American Dream, a dream that promises equality, opportunity, and justice for all, and I am ready to bring this fight to Washington.”
In his role as a California State Senator, Dave has proven himself as a forward-thinking legislator, actively addressing key issues with practical solutions. His legislative efforts to halt offshore drilling and advocate for the decarbonization of key industries, alongside his push for corporate accountability in environmental impact, have positioned him as a key player in the environmental advocacy arena. Beyond these accomplishments, Dave’s dedication to the principles of justice, his proactive efforts to combat voter suppression, and his push for an education system that evolves with our economic landscape further highlight his aptitude and eagerness to confront some of the most pressing issues our society faces today with both grounded and creative solutions.
A Harvard Law School graduate, Min’s career has been defined by his choice to combat corporate fraud at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) following significant accounting scandals, rather than pursuing more lucrative private sector opportunities. His advocacy for economic fairness continued on Capitol Hill as an economic policy director, particularly during the mortgage crisis, further solidifying his commitment to justice and equity. Min’s commitment to economic equity and justice continued as he served as an economic policy director on Capitol Hill, notably during the critical times of the mortgage crisis, before returning to California to contribute to the academic foundation of UC Irvine’s then-new law school.
Dave Min is endorsed by outgoing Rep. Katie Porter, as well as the California Democratic Party, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, California Environmental Voters, and over 150 local, state, and federal officials. Min is the unanimous choice of organized labor in this race, as he is the only candidate to receive support from national, statewide, and local unions, and he is the only candidate endorsed in this race by the California Labor Federation or the AFL-CIO.
