Leader Known For Anti-Corruption Work backs Tran to fight against Michelle Steel’s Corrupt Agenda
Garden Grove, CA — Today, Workers’ Rights Advocate, U.S. Army Veteran, Consumer Rights Attorney, City Commissioner, and Small Business Owner Derek Tran, who is running in California’s 45th Congressional District, announced the endorsement of OC Supervisor Vincente Sarmiento. Supervisor Sarmiento oversees OC District 2 which encompasses a major part of CA-45 in the Garden Grove area, and has a history of rooting out corruption in government. Recently, he has called for an investigation into OC Supervisor Do, a supporter of Michelle Steel, for funneling millions in taxpayer funds into Do’s daughter’s company without disclosing the family connection.
Michelle Steel has a long history of corruption from her career as a politician. She has not hesitated to approve sweetheart deals and legislation to advance the corporate interests of her rich campaign donors. As OC Supervisor, she once proposed, despite widespread public outrage, a plan to expand private jet construction after receiving significant donations from the private jet operator. She also pushed forward a deal to allow another top donor to purchase public land for pennies on the dollar.
“Derek understands the needs and challenges of the people of Orange County. He will work tirelessly with constituents, local leaders, and federal leaders to deliver for the people of CA-45. Derek will bring his skills and experience litigating against corporate greed and negligence to take down corruption. I look forward to working with him as a partner in our fight against self-serving politicians whose unethical, corrupt, and illegal behavior erodes trust and profoundly harms people. I’m proud to endorse Derek Tran for Congress.” – Supervisor Vincente Sarmiento
OC Supervisor Sarmiento’s endorsement comes on the heels of strong poll numbers for Tran, over $500,000 raised in just three months, and a series of high-profile endorsements which include; VoteVets, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Chair of the California House Democratic Delegation, Rep. Mark Takano, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and Rep. Judy Chu, Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. A full endorsement list can be seen here. The DCCC has listed CA-45 as a “District in Play” for the 2024 cycle.
