The three certainties of life are death, taxes and you will be hacked. That third certainty has hit the OC District Attorney’s office. The breach can be a number of things, and I’ve offered to help refer professionals who specialize in hacls on government offices. And I’ll give props for the fast announcement. Let’s see what the hackers were after……
Orange County District Attorney Office’s Issues Statement on Cybersecurity Breach
SANTA ANA, Calif. – On Friday, October 20, 2023, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office received alerts that a portion of its information technology system had become the victim of a cyberattack.
Our IT infrastructure is a critical function of our office’s operations to ensure public safety is protected, and that the constitutional rights of all continue to be safeguarded. We deploy the latest technology and sophisticated defenses to prevent a cyberattack from occurring and to alert us of any potential intrusion. Immediate action was taken to shut the system down when OCDA’s cybersecurity infrastructure alerted us to a possible breach Friday to prevent further intrusion into our system or other related systems.
Upon learning of this purported cyberattack, OCDA staff immediately enacted a comprehensive plan to investigate the source of this incident. In addition, the OCDA implemented a series of protocols to ensure that the Orange County criminal justice system continues to function efficiently.
To contain any effects of the cybersecurity incident, we isolated our network communications. The District Attorney’s office immediately coordinated with partner agencies, including all law enforcement entities in Orange County, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Insolating the effects of a cybersecurity incident is a best practice recommended by cybersecurity subject matter experts and the professionals responding to this incident.
OCDA immediately began working with a third-party expert to assist in identifying any vulnerabilities in our information technology systems. OCDA staff has been working around-the-clock to ensure continuity of operations with our critical services and functions.
We are grateful for the efforts and support we have received from the County, the Courts and our local and regional law enforcement partners. Working together, we are continuing to mitigate and reduce impacts to public services. We are coordinating with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office to identify the perpetrators so they can be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
Uh oh!
Vern claims he and Donna met with Spitzer regarding her pornographic mailers who they alledge was from the blogger who they NEVER MET: Tito Watch.
Yet Vern and Greg call their detractors: Trolls.
I sent Spitzer all three Pages
Maybe Dominion vote counters should handle the DA’s cyber data. If our ballots were unhackable they are qualified to protect the DFLs crime records. Just ask John Eastman.
there was nothing wrong with voting machines from Dominion; just ask Fox News
I am beginning to think this “mailer” thing was actually invented by Greg, Vern and Donna to get attention. Consider this:
Donna takes the bullet for the team on the tweets despite evidence (phone messages) that Vern was complicit.
Next the VOC downplays what should be a HUGE political story given the Nelson’s Activism and controversial past.
Vern now downplays the “rimliker” as being silly and irrelevant.
Now one of their less than prolific posters, talks about licking “Yam’s bunghole” isn’t that the psychological nurses wife?
Now today Donna makes a Facebook post about “Stokin'” which brings us back to Clarance Carter and Tito Watch.
These guys make congressional Republicans look normal
The handle was. Vern blamed Donna for the language and she took the blame even though anyone with a brain could see it wasn’t her. The Nelsons and the Diamonds don’t have money for color copies or first class postage. There is rent to pay and grocerie to buy. And rich people to blame
