Dave Min Raises Over $520,000 In First Quarter

Min wins pre-endorsement caucus

IRVINE, CA — Today, State Senator Dave Min reported raising over $520,000 from January 18th to March 31st for his campaign for Congress in California’s 47th Congressional District. Since launching his campaign, Min has built an incredible campaign team, with endorsements from incumbent Congresswoman Katie Porter, SEIU California, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus’s political leadership ASPIRE PAC, and more than a 100 local and state elected officials. California’s 47th is an open Congressional District in Orange County that is being vacated by Rep. Porter who is running for U.S. Senate. In 2022, Porter defeated former Assemblymember Republican Scott Baugh by 3.44% and political handicappers have ranked it as a “toss up” district and a must win for Democrats in order to take back the House in 2024.

“Dave Min has proven he can win in a red district, proven to be a consequential legislator, and has built a campaign that will win in 2024,” said Fundraising Director Isabel Ocampo. “The outpouring of support from Orange County voters is incredible, and we are so grateful for the hundreds of contributors, volunteers, and supporters who are the backbone of this campaign.”

The commanding early fundraising numbers from Min highlight the campaign’s strong grassroots support, with 78% of contributions being under $250, and are coupled with a truly jaw dropping list of local, state, and national endorsements. In recent weeks, Min has announced the endorsements from SEIU, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 47, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Attorney General Rob Bonta, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Insurance Commissioner Ricard Lara, Superintendent of Public Schools Tony Thurmond, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus’s political leadership ASPIRE PAC, more than 50 local Orange County government officials, and more than 60 state legislators. A full endorsement list is available here.

Senator Min, the only Korean-American in the state legislature, serves as Chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee and as Senate Vice Chair of the Asian and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. Min has proven himself an incredibly effective legislative leader in the Senate, authoring 16 bills signed into law by the Governor, including leading legislation on hate crimes, gun violence prevention, family safety, and women’s reproductive rights. In the wake of the 2021 Huntington Beach Oil Spill, he stood up to the oil industry and led efforts to end offshore drilling. Min serves as Chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee and as Senate Vice Chair of the Asian and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. He previously chaired the Senate Cybersecurity Select Committee.

Before entering the State Senate, Min was a law professor at UC Irvine, where he taught and researched in the area of business law. He resides with his wife Jane Stoever, a UC Irvine law professor who specializes in domestic violence and family law, and their three children in Irvine. Dave is a native Californian, a product of California public schools who graduated from the Wharton School and Harvard Law School, and an Eagle Scout.

  1. Dave Min is a race-baiting, racist douchebag and a coward who has a blind spot for Armenians. I said it.

    • for a minute, I thought you were confessing your own shortcomings. Just switch out Dave’s name for yours. Sentence still works because it’s true

  2. Dave Min claims to have boosted his own children with dangerous chemicals that do not prevent infection of or stopping the spread of Covid. Kids were not at risk of serious illness. Imagine what he will do to your sons and daughters.

    • I’m labeling your comment misinformation. Vaccines work. And the vaccine for COVID did work and if you tested positive after being vaxxed, it was highly likely your symptoms were mild. Dave is a champion of stronger gun laws and you do know the number one reason children die is from firearms, right?

  3. You do know that Audrey Hale recently killed six children and adults? You do know the difference between an (admittedly needing severe precautions) inanimate object and a flawed human with a free will? You do know that Audrey took testosterone, another chemical that big pharma and our government pushes onto our youth? You do know that the CDC is over 50% financed by the vax industry? You do know that the US wants to give Covid vaccines to infants? You do know Switzerland does not? You do know that Autism and auto immune disease rates rose in 1989 from the 72 vaccines required by our Sacramento village idiot? You do know that children have almost zero chance of dying from Covid? You do know that in 2021 the US (non covid) death rates rose 40% for men ages 18-49? You do know that Dave Min is out to kill your kids, right?

    • I do know you’re ananti-vax idiot; there’s no connection between autism and vaccinations. Thanks for singling out Audrey Hale. Where were you on the shootings in Monterey Park, Half Moon Bay, Uvalde, Buffalo, and Louisville?
