REP. CORREA BRINGS BACK NEARLY $30 MILLION IN FEDERAL TAX DOLLARS FOR FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS IN CA-46

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) announced that he’s secured nearly $30 million in federal funding for vital community projects across California’s 46th Congressional District. Correa secured the requests in the Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) omnibus appropriations bill, which President Biden is slated to sign into law. Rep. Correa worked in lockstep with community leaders to identify priorities for CA-46 constituents, and fought for them during the annual funding process.

Once this bill has been signed into law, the funding will be distributed to various local governments and community organizations throughout California’s 46th district, and will be used for designated community projects.

“I am so proud to have secured nearly $30 million for 15 community projects right here in our district,” said Rep. Correa. “From supporting mental health care and tackling housing insecurity, to combatting the climate crisis and so much more, I am honored to say that we are making monumental investments that will make California’s 46th district better—one project at a time. This is what taxpayer equity looks like, bringing your taxpayer dollars home to uplift our community.”

Rep. Correa championed funding for 15 projects that will directly benefit California’s 46th District residents. These include:

• $1,000,000 for the Anaheim Community Foundation, Anaheim, CA for mental health and related support services
• $2,000,000 for the Anaheim Union High School District, Anaheim, CA for a theater and performing arts program, including equipment and technology installation
• $2,200,000 for the Chapman University, Orange, CA for computational clusters, lab infrastructure, and postsecondary research activities
• $1,500,000 for the Children’s Health of Orange County, Orange, CA for facilities and equipment
• $3,000,000 for the County of Orange, Santa Ana, CA for facilities and equipment
• $2,500,000 for the Downtown Business Improvements Initiative
• $2,000,000 for the Orange County Health Authority, Orange, CA for a health information technology initiative
• $3,000,000 for the Orange County Housing Finance Trust
• $3,452,972 for the Orange County Sanitation District for a Supercritical Water Oxidation Project
• $2,000,000 for the Santa Ana College, Santa Ana, CA for CTE pathways to certificate and degree programs
• $750,000 for the Santa Ana-Garden Grove Rails to Trails
• $2,000,000 for the Santiago Creek Festival Grounds
• $3,000,000 for the Sustainability Education Center for Education and Workforce Development
• $500,000 for the Taller San Jose Hope Builders, Santa Ana, CA for skills training and employment placement services for low-income young adults facing significant barriers
• $1,000,000 for the Veteran Housing Assistance Program
