Anti-Agran Mailers Push Old News

Irvine council member Larry Agran puts up with more garbage thrown against him than any candidate in Orange County and has for decades.  The latest mailers shows Agran outside his home dealing with a trash can and he’s aware someone is taking his picture; it’s an unflattering photo.  “Even Larry Agran knows that Larry Agran’s record is trash.”

And the dishonesty continues on the flip side with old articles from OC Weekly about the Great Park audit where the forensic accounting firm lied before an election Agran lost, recanted their findings and are now out of business.  The claims Agran wasted millions of dollars when the blame can be pointed to a new Republican majority that ignored the Ken Smith master planned park in favor of Five Point’s vision so the developer could build lots of new homes at the park.  There’s an LA Times article that Irvine Community News & Views is a farce, ignoring the very partisan history of print media in general (Alexander Hamilton founded the New York Post largely to slander his political enemies). And there’s the out of context article on the Voice of OC where Agran voted against the Anti-Asian Hate resolution because it wasn’t inclusive enough.

How many times do we need to correct the record on Agran?  He speaks his mind.  He proposes ideas with details on how to administer the idea and how to pay for it.  Council member Tammy Kim didn’t endorse Agran for re-election and, secretly, she ought to worry because which council member will she steal ideas from to claim asher own?

Sources who’ve polled the Irvine election tell me Vice Mayor Anthony Kuo is likely to be the top council finisher with Agran a close second.  I have three friends running for Mayor so I’m not going to chime in on that race.

If you hit FiveThirtyEight.com, Congressman Mike Levin is number one with an 85% chance of retaining his seat.  Katie Porter comes in at #5 with a 77% chance to retain her seat. That doesn’t mean volunteers shouldn’t keep working hard.  The site offered no guidance on other OC congressional districts.

Silly season is almost over.  Keep those mailers for easy kindling for your backyard fire pit.
