Thursday night, there’s a three and half hour session on corruption in local politics with a focus on Anaheim held in Tustin. And its a strange bedfellows case.
Progressive Anaheim Council Member Jose Moreno will join the Cal Policy Center is working with OC Lincoln Club in an event sponsored by The Epoch Times” to discuss “The Anaheim Anomaly Event” all about the Anaheim Cabal. Moreno is joined by former Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait, Cal Policy Center president Will Swaim (are those employees from the failed Long Beach Weekly paid up yet Will?), former OC Supervisor John Moorlach and others.
What new light will be shed is questionable. Hopefully, there’s an update on when Harry Sidhu and Jeff Flint are indicted.
And Moreno has every right to cover the corruption in Anaheim. But the fleas he gets from lying down with these sponsoring organizations stains him.
The Cal Policy Center and The Lincoln Club are committed to damaging public schools in Orange County. As an educator, Moreno must know this. While he’s certainly eager to get his Cabal punching in, he ought to read the room and know these organizations are not allies. But the event wraps up at 9PM so Tait’s ride back to Laguna Beach won’t be too bad.
Interesting premise for the program. Tait served on Anaheim city council for 18 years, Moreno for 6 and Moreno only made a feeble attempt to limit campaign influence two weeks ago. So aren’t they culpable if they believed Anaheim was being run into the ground and did nothing to stop it during a combined tenure of 24 years?
“Because when you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to lose”.
Moreno is termed out with no obvious seat to view for, it’s going to be a long six years waiting for Valencia to term out…….
Moorlach just announced he’s running for Mayor of Costa Mesa. As usual, the do-nothing is just grandstanding for his political career.
He lost for State Senate in 2020.
He lost for County Supervisor in 2021.
He backed out of running for County Auditor-Controller in the 2022 primary election after initially pulling papers.
Now, he’s running for Mayor of Costa Mesa in the 2022 general election.
