“Mommy is the Mayor” by Tustin’s Letitia Clark

Many are aware that Tustin Mayor Letitia Clark spent much of 2021 pregnant with her third child.  But few knew she was tending to another baby — a children’s book called “Mommy’s the Mayor.”

Clark describes the book as “….a narrative about a city mayor’s role. Seen through the eyes of children, it opens up the world to convey the impact local government has on their everyday lives. The book touches on the need for representation through the diverse illustrations and the demonstration of role modeling for children of color. Mommy is the Mayor hopes to inspire an interest in serving at the local level, raising awareness about the importance of running for office, while exploring non-traditional roles in government for diverse populations.”

My friends at Arvida Books in Old Town Tustin tell me Clark is planning a book signing at the store in the near future, and by all means support this local independent bookstore that just celebrated a one year anniversary in the middle of a pandemic bu buying Clark’s book there.  If you can’t wait for the book signing, here’s the link on Amazon.

Congratulations to Mayor Clark on an extraordinary year.
