Any idea who Amy Phan West is? She is one of the whackjob Republicans seeking to lose to Rep. Katie Porter in 2022 and she sent a Tweet out this morning that caused “Katie Porter” to trend on Twitter; the responses to the Tweet mostly come from supporters of Porter who chimed in to say they sent our two term CA-45 Congressional rep money.
When I last check Phan West’s Twitter feed, she was getting an economics lesson about the the two critical economic bills Democrats hope to pass to aid average Americans. The responses are remarkable.
And we’re coming up on the end of the third quarter marking a critical fundraising time for Porter and OC’s Democrats in Congress.

Phan West apparently agreed with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Qanon) that Communism still poses a major threat to daily life in America. That old Red Scare tactic is so 60 years ago. Phan West also calls for “unmasking our kids” even though COVID19 and the Delta Variant are striking kids hard now. And she thinks Porter is a socialist! I guess Phan, the private business owner, drives to her place of work on private roads, protected by private police and fire departments, and sends her kids to private school…right? She did attend socialist public college CSU-Long Beach after all and lives in Westminster with her family….is that CA-45? I can’t tell because redistricting is coming.
Meanwhile, Amy Phan West was a bg supporter of the failed recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom, and a big supporter of disgraced and twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump. She was on a flyer for “Stop the Steal” last year.
The LA Times did a piece on this past weekend’s GOP convention and quoted FlashReport publisher Jon Fleischman, a GOP delegate, as saying “there’s nowhere to go but up” for the California Republican Party.
Amy Phan West just proves that the GOP hasn’t hit bottom yet.
