Irvine’s Luis Huang Joins Clown Car race for Governor if Newsom Recalled

The big news over the weekend is that activist Caitlyn Jenner has joined the clown car of Republican candidates seeking to lead California if Gavin Newsom doesn’t survive what looks like a recall election this fall.

Here’s a link to review the leading Republican options.

No one particularly inspiring and Jenner’s campaign is being run by some of the people who managed Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.  Can another reality show be far behind?

Now, you’d expect Republicans to overreact to Newsom’s management of the COVID19 crisis, but 2021 isn’t 2003.  Sure, we might get a litany of C-list celebrities, porn stars, and Qanon believers throwing their hats in the ring, but Democrats are uniting behind Newsom.

Except for one.

Irvine’s Luis Huang announced on Instagram that he has pulled papers to run for Governor.  He’s already announced he’s the “socialist candidate” for Irvine City Council in 2022 after a third place finish for Mayor in 2020.  Sources tell me Huang’s interview with the DPOC for Party endorsement devolved into a travesty.  Allegedly, his answer to every single question was “fuck the Irvine Company.”

Additionally, Huang was invited to every single online candidate’s forum in 2020 but only attended one, making his name a tad toxic with those forum organizers.  His mayoral campaign platform to register every unregistered voter was a bust.  His fundraising for the Mayor’s race was worse than pathetic and he has no ability to raise funds that could make him anything but a fringe candidate for Governor.

The only advantage to having him on the ballot for Governor means there’s at least one candidate Caitlyn Jenner can beat.

          • Off the top of my head, I attend 3 of 5 candidates’ forums (in sequential order: OC Chinese Forum, Irvine Canddiates, and UCI Associated Students.)

            The notable candidates’ forum I missed was the one hosted by Irvine WatchDog. Although I do regret skipping out of the Irvine WatchDog, I had felt unwell, stressed, and overwhelmed with all the campaigning (on top of my 40 hours full-time job), especially after I had already suspended my campaign in Sep (and I think Irvine WatchDog’s was in Oct).

            By my count, that forum had 16 total Canddiates attend (13 city council and 3 mayoral) so it seemed sufficiently staffed, and my absence is foregone conclusion to a race that Candidate Khan was dominating.

            My DPOC I thought it was a very good 15 mins, and yes I ran on a campaign of FUCK Irvine Company. If memory serves me, you were Central Committee not sure why you skipped out on my 15 mins with Ada and Annie…where were you Dan?

            • You suspended your campaign? How could anyone tell? You raised no money, did no advertising, your voter registration efforts were a joke.

              On the DPOC front, there was a committee that interviewed candidates for endorsement. If I was on that committee, I would have voted no on you. Farrah would have had more than 50% of the vote had you not run. Also, you don’t know this because you have no kids and haven’t lived in Irvine that long, but when IUSD schools are in financial peril,, the Irvine Company always steps up with a significant contribution to keep our schools exceptional.

              • Dan, feel free to poopoo activist non-serious Candidates like me all you want. I honestly feel it is very important to allow non-establishment Candidiates such as my campaign to push for non-traditional reforms, I am proud to be the only fighter pushing for Renters’ Rights Commission, first in Orange County. Mayor Khan and multiple City Council members said they would create Ethics Commission.

                The world needs more laughter. Maybe a Socialist wearing Shoes can bring some smiles to Irvine families…

So much for “journalistic integrity” bahaha.

            The only Forum I failed to attend was Irvine WatchDog. While it was unfortunate, I couldn’t attend that due to the stresses of holding a +40 hour full-time job as an engineering manager, campaigning part-time, and leaving little time for family and my own personal mental health.

            I take exception to your use of “toxic,” but shit, you can say whatever you wish. That was not my intention, and he’ll, there were 17 total Candidates that DID show up, so it was already a crowded stage (digitally speaking…)

            And yes. FUCK IRVINE COMPANY. You would have heard me say it, BUT you chose NOT to partake in my DPOC Interview with Ada and Annie, us that why your no longer Central Committee hm…

            Anyways, your “BLOG” is a joke…and i applaud you because Orange County deserves a chuckle and pure entertainment…
