
While 2020 remains a dumpster fire in so many ways, the bench for Democrats in Orange County continues to grow. If I had told you that five Democratic women would be mayors of cities in Orange County in 2019, would you have bet money on it?
So here’s to our Five Golden Rings: Tiffany Ackley in Aliso Viejo, who is arguably getting significant results in helping turn South County blue. Kim Clark in Huntington Beach. Letitia Clark in Tustin, the city’s first African-American female mayor (Republican Al Murray was the first African-American. Farrah Khan in Irvine, the city’s first Muslim mayor. And Katrina Foley, who hopes to be elected to the County Board of Supervisor’s in a special election in 2021.
