Anaheim, CA – Avelino Valencia stepped forward today to announce his campaign for Anaheim City Council. An Anaheim native and Chair of the city’s Budget, Investment, and Technology Commission, Valencia is running to represent the 4th Council District, currently held by Lucille Kring who is prevented from seeking re-election due to term limits.
In announcing his campaign, Valencia released the following statement:
“Our community is hurting right now. People are afraid because their friends or loved ones are sick, businesses are closed, employment is unstable, and the future looks uncertain. The issues we faced before this pandemic are still there and more acute than ever, especially the limited availability of housing and the homelessness crisis in our city.
As a product of Anaheim, I know that the generosity, spirit, and strength of our residents will bring us through these challenges. Every day we hear stories about our first responders, medical personnel, essential workers, friends, and neighbors helping one another. I am running for City Council because I want to contribute my experience and my commitment to our city in the most effective and impactful way that I can. Over the coming months, my focus is going to be on how to keep residents safe, create economic opportunity for all, and restore and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
To those I don’t yet know, I ask you to give me the chance to earn your trust and your vote. Call me at (714) 916-2729 or send me an email at Avelino@AvelinoValencia.com. Let’s have a conversation about the future of our city and what we can do together to make it even better.”
In announcing his campaign, Valencia released a list of over 50 early endorsers including elected officials and community leaders. |
