An Update on the Scott Clark Case

If memory serves, I believe this week the Clark family and their lawyer is supposed to get an update from the DA’s office on the status of re-opening the investigation into the 2017 death of Scott Clark, a Laguna Niguel elementary school teacher, who was struck and killed by a car driven by Jamie Mulford.  We await this update.

Earlier this week, there was a Superior Court hearing as Mulford sought to have her driver’s license reinstated.  Mulford was the driver of a car involved in a fatal accident on the 10 freeway in 2010, and her license was reinstated seven months before the accident that killed Clark.

Mulford’s request was denied. Details from the Facebook page for those following the case, this update from Scott’s wife Sandy:

I attended a Case Management Hearing yesterday at Superior Court in Santa Ana in Judge Moss’ courtroom (C14). They are still in preliminary stages, but as it stands now her license is permanently revoked. Though I am not directly involved in this case, Rick Welsh, my attorney introduced me to the court and to the judge as Scott Clark’s widow and that we are very interested in following the proceedings. I was able to meet briefly with the state attorney who represents the DMV. She was delightful, dedicated, and resolute in defending the safety of our streets.

As the plaintiff, Jamie Mulford will have to prove to the court that she is worthy of possessing a license. The next hearing will be in late June. Our appearance yesterday, and at all subsequent hearings, is to remind the court that they gave Jamie Mulford her license back once, and it proved to be a fatal mistake! It was a mistake that should not be repeated.

Thank you all for following and praying and rallying and being my friends and supporters! I wish you all a wonderful holiday season! If I hear anything in the coming days, I will let you know! Until then, enjoy the season.”

In the meantime, Clark’s lawyer left a comment on this blog disputing DA Todd Spitzer’s statement about the cooperation his office is giving this case.
