I’m still working my way through the Mueller report while catching up at work after being out of town for a week. News coverage starts me off and then I do refer to the appropriate pages. But I’m nowhere near done reviewing.
Given the split of Republicans and Democrats in the House and in the Senate, there really is no way President Trump will be removed from office. There’s just no way to peel off that member Republican Senators who continue to place Party before country. And there’s a certain level of reluctance by some Democrats in Congress not to move forward with Impeachment proceedings.
But how can we not?
President Bill Clinton was impeached over lying about an affair to a special prosecutor and lying to his wife and to Congress about it. It didn’t stop Republicans in the House from impeaching him, even though there was no way the Senate would vote to remove him (but please do watch the video of Senator Lindsay Graham make the case for obstruction of justice against Clinton and tweet him to see if his words apply to Trump).
If Congress doesn’t move towards impeachment, what can we expect from the next president who might be worse than Trump or from — God forbid — a second Trump term?
Let’s have the trial in the Senate. Let’s have Watergate style-hearings. Let’s call this President out on his actions.
Doing so will expose more information. Doing so will put Republicans up for re-election in an awkward position to defend their actions for the 2020 elections and it’s high time to retire Graham, Susan Collins and others. Doing so will strengthen the resolve of the Democrats in the House who are upholding their constitutional authority of checks and balances.
It has to be done.
Lastly, Sarah Huckabee Sanders needs to go. She told the Special Counsel she effectively lied to the press about the lack of support from current and former FBI agents about fired FBI director James Comey. She went on the Hannity program on Fox News and lied about lying.
When I was in Washington last week, I moderated a panel on reputation management and was fortunate to have a well-respected trade journal editor; the questions directed to her were slightly different due to the nature of her job. I asked, “what’s the biggest mistake a company can make when reporting on a security breach?” She turned to the audience and said, “Don’t lie to me. Never lie to me. “I’ll know.” And the communications professionals on the panel echoed her words with a “We won’t lie either. Because if we do, we’re done.”
Sanders should be hounded to resign by members of the press. Professional communications organizations should condemn her in the strongest terms possible. It’s documented that Sanders’ brother was involved in killing a dog at a summer camp. It’s hard to believe her brother is the second worst sibling in that family. I’m sure her father would hire her for his Fox News show, but increasingly Michelle Wolff was right about her.
Time to Impeach the president. His use of a Game of Thrones meme “Game Over” should be changed to a new one — “Impeachment is Coming.”
DOJ needs to move ahead with indicting Obama and Clinton once the formality of an investigation shows their involvement in the biggest coverup in history. Can you say Spygate!
Time to bring down the deep state for creating this illegal investigation in the first place, the predicate of which was a manufactured dossier payed for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.
Bob — a significant portion of the Steele dossier has checked out. And it’s origins are in the RNC; they abandoned the project when Trump had the nomination locked up. Dan, The origins of the dossier actually was not with the RNC or the Washington Free Beacon. They merely hired Fusion GPS for oppo research against Trump prior to the creation of the dossier which was done for the DNC by Fusion GPS at a later date.

Further, I have to question the credibility of the Slate piece. If you believe the info is accurate, why was the information outlined in Slate not used by Mueller in his final report? Instead, his conclusion was no evidence of collusion or to use the legal term, conspiracy The way the law works is if you have no evidence, you have no case. This piece in Forbes outlines a counter narrative to the Slate piece which seems more credible to me.

Its interesting that if the information in the Slate piece is true, why didn’t Mueller utilize any of it in his final report? Trump just underwent an exhaustive investigation by Mueller and his investigators and nothing that could be construed as incriminating evidence proving a crime came out in the final analysis. I’m pretty sure that Mueller would have followed all his leads to a final conclusion such as to close any questions as to their applicability to the purpose of the investigation.
Mueller left a clear roadmap for Congress to investigate and the SD of NY has 12 investigations to follow up on. But if you think the Mueller report was a complete exoneration of Trump, you are sadly mistaken
The real question you clueless “conservatives” (FASCISTS, really) should be asking yourselves is why is there no info about financial investigations in the Mueller Report?

Dan, actually that’s not true and despite all of the inaccuracies and the fact that it wasn’t fact checked using the required Woods procedure, it was, according to Andrew McCabe, the primary basis for the collusion investigation. Secondly, the 4 FISA warrants were deceptively obtained by deliberately excluding pertainent information on the FISA application. Additionally, the Mueller report was an incomplete op-ed because he was tasked with investigating Russian interference, not just Trump and Mueller made no mention in his report of the Clinton campaigns role in obtaining fake dirt on Trump through a third party from Russian sources.
The instructions from Justice to Mueller was to investigate Russian interference into the election, which Mueller did prove with indictments and convictions to demonstrate just that. Collusion isn’t a crime and there’s plenty of evidence of obstruction of justice. There are DOJ guidelines that a sitting president can’t be indicted which the Starr investigation tried to do. The Dossier has some things wrong and many that are right — enough to justify FISA warrants
Obviously, base on how either of us interpret the results of the investigation, we are not going to convince each other of our viewpoints. I will just that we will see how it all plays out in the end and I will be back later to say I told you so. To the guy who calls himself New Yorkers hate Trump, this is one New Yorker you don’t speak for and there are millions more.
Hillary Clinton got over 4.5 million votes in New York State in 2016; Trump got a bit more than 2.8 million. You don’t speak for this New Yorker either. The Mueller report did not completely exonerate the President. There are no fewer than 10 examples of Trump obstructing justice. The AG is acting as Trump’s fixer and Trump is refusing efforts by Congress that address the points outlined in the Mueller investigation.

Dan, it’s not the Special Prosecuter’s job to exhonerate anyone. He is only to provide the evidence or a summarization of the investigation to the AG for a disposition. Mueller was out of line by making that comment. It was not under his purview to make such a statement.

What are the examples of Trump obstructing Justice? Obstruction, in large part is a judgement call which must meet certain legal criteria. You and many others who claim obstruction may be conflating the word with opposition by Trump. The two words have a completely different standards in legal terms.
