Irvine Council Member Melissa Fox Launches AD-68 Bid

Democrat Melissa Fox Jumps Into Race for Orange County State Assembly Seat; Will Bring “Pragmatic, Common Sense Leadership” to Sacramento IRVINE, CA — Today, Irvine City Councilwoman and Democrat, Melissa Fox, officially announced her campaign for California State Assembly District 68, a region wholly contained within Orange County, California. While currently in Republican hands, significantly, in 2016, Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump in the 68th Assembly District by nearly 5-points. A career-long attorney, Fox has served on the Irvine Council since 2016 after winning an at-large, citywide election. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Orange County Great Park, and in 2017, was recognized by Orange County Auditor-Controller Eric H. Wollery, earning the “Orange County Taxpayer Watchdog Award.” Previously a Board Member of the Orange County Fire Authority, Fox was also honored by the Child Abuse Protection Network in 2017, securing the, “Hero of Children Award.” In announcing her campaign for State Assembly District 68, Councilwoman Melissa Fox remarked: “With Washington in continuous disarray, it’s more important than ever that we ensure California is a beacon of hope, progress and opportunity for the people of our state.
