Anaheim, CA—Today’s endorsement from California Women’s List adds to Ashleigh Aitken’s growing and broad support for Anaheim Mayor.
“Working mom, successful consumer protection attorney, and an accomplished neighborhood activist. Ashleigh demonstrates everyday how hard women are working to be leaders in our communities,” said Meredith Dworkin, Board Member of California Women’s List. “As the first female Mayor of Orange County’s largest city, Ashleigh will work to ensure more women in Anaheim have a stronger voice in taking on the challenges neighborhoods are facing and in shaping the future of the city.
Aitken has also been endorsed by former Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, Congressman Lou Correa, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva, Anaheim Union High School District Trustee Al Jabbar, the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association (AMEA), Orange County Employees Association (OCEA), Labors’ Local 652, Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 582, and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 324.
Ashleigh is a former federal prosecutor who also previously served our neighborhoods as Chair of the Anaheim Community Services Board. As a two-term commissioner, she helped secure funding for local non-profit organizations to lift people out of poverty, prevent elder abuse, offer job training and placement, and provide additional education and arts resources to our at-risk youth.
She is also the former Chair and a current member of the Orange County Fair Board, where she is helping to lead improvements on the grounds, add recreational opportunities, offer free programming to over 100,000 schoolchildren at the Centennial Farm, and mitigate traffic on event days. The Heroes Hall museum and education center in honor of our military veterans and the Table of Dignity, the state’s largest memorial to farm workers, were also created with the help of Ashleigh’s leadership on the Fair Board.
Ashleigh and her husband, Michael, live in Anaheim with their three daughters and an ark of animals. Ashleigh and Michael work at the family-run law firm Aitken Aitken Cohn. She continues to support and volunteer with the local Assistance League of Anaheim, Girl Scouts of Orange County, Special Olympics, Chance Theater, Anaheim Ballet, Muzeo, and South Coast Repertory.
So her opponent, Cynthia Ward, posted something on FB a few minutes ago:
“Keep going!”
“Give your best!”
“You can do it! ”
Which seems to be conceding before she even gets started, Ward plays the victim card, however condescending, in announcing her defeat, before she even get’s going.
Here’s a hint, Mrs. Ward. Why don’t you start by exposing the shadow members of CATER, who has cost the city HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, MAYBE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in legal fee’s so you and your out of town friends can score political (blog attention) points.
I wonder what Ms. Ward thinks about some of the steamier aspects of her cohorts (Moreno ANTI-WOMEN, Victor’s Multiple DUI’s, Vern’s Multiple DUI’S and SEXUAL ASSAULT of Lorri Galloway, The METH EPIDEMIC caused by “kindness”)
If Ward wants to play ball, she should start by releasing information on her shadow group CATER, Tait’s involvement and her member list (however short).
NOTE TO Richard Toro: I waited ALL day Saturday at the Orange Tree Deli, like you asked, you NO SHOWED, did meet Steven Van Doren and another local celeb, please don’t waste my time coward.
I actually enjoyed the piece of Spitzer’s aide urinating in public and I was reminded that I was told — by Sean Mill of all people back when we spoke — that Vern did the same thing in a parking lot after recording some OJ radio program they no longer do because it had fewer listeners than guests. Hey Greg, ask Vern if he ever used a parking lot as a urinal. There’s an image for you.
Vern and company no doubt celebrated the THREE police chases featured on So.Cal news today, First was a hopped up METH head, in a stolen car, who put a baby at risk (sound familiar), the second a METH FREAK driving 100mph down side streets, abandoning his chase in a “Riverbed” homeless encampment, and just minutes ago, a short chase with THREE METH HEADS, in custody.
KCAL9 Calls that ratings, Vern calls it “just another day on Anna Drive”
