SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA – Orange County Assemblymember Tom Daly has endorsed Mike Levin for Congress in District 49.  Tom Daly’s support of Levin’s campaign against Darrell Issa follows other recent endorsements such as the National Organization for Women, Reps. Adam Schiff and Jimmy Gomez, Betty Yee, Fiona Ma, and with many local leaders in the district.

“Mike Levin would be an excellent Member of Congress and would effectively and efficiently represent the constituents of his district,” said Assemblymember Daly. “He is a smart and innovative leader who understands the importance of public service,” he added.

“I’m honored to have Assemblymember Daly endorse our campaign,” said Levin. “He has a track record of holding government accountable to its citizens and I look forward to working with him to serve Orange County and the entire 49th District.”

Assemblymember Daly was elected in November of 2012 to represent California’s 69th Assembly District. He earned his B.A. degree at Harvard University. Previously he served as Orange County Clerk-Recorder where his department was honored with a Bright Ideas in Government award for “creative and innovative” customer service by the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Major endorsements are continuing to roll in to the Levin campaign. Other key supporters include Congressmember Adam Schiff, Congressmember Jimmy Gomez, California State Controller Betty Yee, the National Organization for Women (NOW), Board of Equalization member Fiona Ma, San Diego City Councilmembers Barbara Bry and Chris Ward, Encinitas Councilmember Tasha Boerner Horvath, Dana Point Mayor Debra Lewis, San Juan Capistrano Mayor Pro Tem Sergio Farias, Del Mar Deputy Mayor Dwight Worden, and many more.

Levin is challenging Republican Darrell Issa in this district that straddles northern San Diego and southern Orange counties.
