Dr. Hans Keirstead’s Statement on the Planned White Supremacist Demonstration in Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH – Dr. Hans Keirstead released the following statement on the planned white supremacist demonstration in Laguna Beach.

“First and foremost, my priority is the safety of our community. We have been reminded by the events in Charlottesville that this ideology has a long-standing history of violence and its purpose is to terrorize innocent people with brutality and intimidation.

I have spoken with and offered my full assistance to Laguna Beach Mayor Toni Iseman and I have absolute confidence that the Mayor and the Chief of Police are doing everything in their power to ensure the safety of Laguna Beach residents.

I urge all who wish to stand up to and condemn this despicable ideology to avoid their demonstration and instead join the Laguna Beach community for a Unity Rally on Saturday the 19th and peacefully let these groups know that hate is not welcome in our home.”
