Levin has Blockbuster Quarter for Race Against Issa

VISTA, CA – Mike Levin, an environmental attorney, clean energy advocate, and longtime grassroots progressive champion, has demonstrated continued strong fundraising capacity, raising a healthy $333,902 from 4/1/17 to 6/30/17.  This brings Levin’s total to $617,359 since his campaign was announced on 3/8/17.

Levin’s campaign for Congress against Republican Darrell Issa has benefitted from an explosion of popular support from over 6,300 contributions and 5,300 individual donors from all 50 states.  Levin’s average contribution is less than $100, showing his broad fundraising base.

“Mike Levin has demonstrated phenomenal grassroots support,” said Levin’s consultant, Parke Skelton.  “That he could raise over $617,000 in just under four months shows that he’s the candidate who has what it takes to finally defeat Darrell Issa.”

“I’m incredibly grateful to all of our supporters.” Levin said.  “Our early fundraising success has allowed us to make strategic investments and build infrastructure that will pay dividends next year.  Ours is the campaign that will defeat Darrell Issa, once and for all.”

Levin was raised in South Orange County, where he attended public schools.  He graduated from Stanford University, where he served as student body president, and Duke University School of Law.  He was the Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Orange County and has worked since as an environmental attorney and clean energy advocate.  For the last two decades, he has been involved in a variety of local, state and federal progressive political campaigns.

California’s 49th Congressional District stretches across North County San Diego and Southern Orange County and has been represented by Darrell Issa since 2001.  Earlier this year, The New York Times called Issa “the nation’s most vulnerable incumbent.”

  1. Mike should really avoid trying to sound like a progressive working class candidate. He’s the epitome of white privilege. He attended a private high school in LA (Loyola) and has never been a friend to the poor or communities of color.

    • So what. Obama went to Occidental…..

You are flame thrower. He would be representing very few of those you mention. Has Issa (who has handily won repeatedly) been a friend to progressives???

BTW. My thoughtful comments, apology to Cynthia’s dogs (and suggestions on Anaheims homeless “crisis” have yet to appear on Greg’s blog. I guess pretending I am “fake Vasquez” beats the truth.

Nevermind “Crazy Greg” called my employer repeatedly…………….Cookoo for Coco puffs.

  2. I heard him speak. I am now listening to Mike Levin!!!. Impressive credentials and seems like the one with the drive, credentials and experience to beat Issa.
