Brea, CA – The Orange County Professional Firefighters announced their endorsement of Joe Kerr’s campaign for supervisor today. Support from the firefighters represents one of the most sought after endorsements in Orange County politics. Kerr served as the President of the Orange County Professional Firefighters between 1995 and 2012.
In announcing the endorsement, Orange County Professional Firefighters Association PAC Chairman
Todd Baldridge stated:
“As the President of our organization, Joe Kerr fought to keep neighborhoods safe and make local government more transparent. We are excited to announce our endorsement of his campaign because we know that he will make an excellent supervisor – one who is responsive, independent, and laser-focused on protecting Orange County’s quality of life. Local firefighters and paramedics are looking forward to playing an active role in the campaign ahead.”
The Orange County Professional Firefighters Association represents nearly 1,000 professional firefighters. Combined, they provide regional fire protection to 23 cities and 1.5 million residents in Orange County.
Joe Kerr is a second-generation professional firefighter who served as a fire captain with the Orange County Fire Authority and Orange County Fire Department for over 25 years. He was the first President of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, the former Vice President of the California Professional Firefighters, as well as a former Vice President of the Orange County Central Labor Council (AFL-CIO).
Joe was named Fireman of the Year by the Cypress Fire Department in 1979, Overachiever of the Year by the Orange County Firemen’s Association in 1984, and Fire Captain of the Year by the Orange County Fire Department in 1986. In 1981, he was given a Certificate of Merit from the Orange County Board of Supervisors for his role in responding to the Air California jetliner crash at John Wayne Airport. He was also presented with the Courage Under Fire Award in 1999 for rescuing and reviving a non-breathing occupant who was trapped in a residential structure fire. After retiring in 2012, Joe received numerous awards and recognitions for helping to save the life of a baby who was drowning and had stopped breathing in a swimming pool.
Hey Dan, why did you delete our polite and informative conversation regarding the lobbying practices of firefighters and the implications for housing and the homelessness crisis? I guess what they say about the modern Democratic party is true: it is opposed to free speech. Which brings forth an interesting question: why is it opposed to free speech, to say nothing of engaging in character assassination and intimidation?
If anyone would like to see the conversation, feel free to email me at: caldlamb@gmail.com. I took screen shot because this is not my first rodeo. haha…
…character assassination, intimidation, among other things…
It’s in a different post dickhead. You’re stupid right?
meh
The … other post was not showing up on my end, hence the concern. Strange… Perhaps the theliberaloc needs to invest in cyber security or something. In any event, I think I have been able to illuminate a number of issues.
Daniel. Nothing was deleted. Your inability to navigate the site is not cause for additional cyber security beyond what we already have. Please don’t blame us for your inadequacy in using this blog. You’re a luddite.
Whether its my imagination or otherwise (and I obviously suspect otherwise), every time I feel aggrieved that equates to 25 more doors I’ll be knocking on in north Orange County next year. That’s a lot of doors…
As always, thanks for the response.
Get a straight jacket idiot. You’re unhinged
