Tax Day is Tomorrow; will Trump release his 2016 Returns

President Donald Trump’s 2016 federal income tax returns are not under audit.  Will he release his taxes tomorrow?  And for that matter, will Senator Bernie Sanders ever release his 2015 or 2016 returns because he’s in no position to criticize Trump while Sanders’ own returns are still a closely guarded secret.

There are a number of Tax day protests over the president’s tax returns scheduled for tomorrow.  For our Republican friends out there who loudly whined about President Obama’s birth certificate, where are you on Trump releasing his tax returns.  If you complained about one but not the other, quite simply, you’re a hypocrite.

We got this note from Fiona Ma of the State Board of Equalization:

We are almost 100 days into Donald Trump’s presidency, and we still haven’t seen what every presidential candidate in the past 48 years has offered up freely: his full tax returns.

It’s outrageous.

The American people have a right to know what conflicts of interests that our president may or may not have. That is why I am joining leaders across the nation calling on President Trump to release his taxes, and and why I am attending the Tax March this Saturday, April 15.

As a CPA and a member of the Board of Equalization, I’m fighting for full transparency in how the government spends your money and for honesty from every government official who holds office. That’s why I’m running for California Treasurer: I’m going to fight for the people of California every day, standing up to President Trump or anyone else who gets in the way.

Your voice in this battle is absolutely necessary, so I’m asking you to join me in demanding that President Trump release his taxes now.

Tell President Trump: The American people deserve full transparency. Release your tax returns once and for all!

If you want to show the Trump administration that you won’t be silenced, I also encourage you to join me and march in one of the numerous Tax Marches across the country this Saturday.

Together, we will hold our government — and every government official — accountable to the American people, each and every day. Thank you for doing your part.
