Orange County Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has emerged as a candidate for Secretary of State in the Trump administration according to the Washington Examiner.

The newspaper city Rohrabacher’s experience as a “top foreign policy expert” in the House of Representatives and his experience in Afghanistan as an alternative to former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani and former UN ambassador John Bolton — both considered extremely bombastic to lead the nation’s diplomatic efforts.

From the Examiner:

Rohrabacher, once a Reagan speechwriter and a House member since 1989, emerged Tuesday night as a possible Trump pick. His views jive closely with Trump’s on foreign policy, immigration and global warming.

Giuliani and Bolton are being vetted for the job once held by Hillary Clinton, but a major roadblock arose this week when Republican Sen. Rand Paul announced that he would likely oppose both. He believes they back past failed policies in the Middle East.

The paper noted that Rohrabacher famously lost an arm wrestling match to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

It’s a sad state of affairs when Rohrabacher is the most tolerable of the three under consideration for Secretary of State.

  1. Who started that rumor, Rohrabacher himself? That clown is not even qualified for the job he holds, mcuh less a position in the new Trump Administration. I doubt the Trump Administration would consider Rohrabacher for anything unless it was Chief Dog Catcher and even that would be a stretch.
