The Democratic Foundation of Orange County cordially invites you to a luncheon honoring Irvine community leader Melissa Fox. As a Commissioner on the City of Irvine Community Services Commission, Melissa plays an important role in the improvement of Irvine’s public spaces and community programs. Melissa’s run for Irvine City Council is testament of her commitment to continue improving the lives of Irvine residents.

Melissa is an Orange County native; she is a graduate of Brandeis University and Tulane University School of Law. She is a member of the Bars of the State of California and the United States Tax Court. Melissa has served Orange County for more than 20 years, having practiced business, corporate, and commercial law, advising large and small businesses, as well as organizations and individuals.

Her work on the Community Services Commission focuses on improving the quality of life for all Irvine residents. She has fought for childcare, more ample recreation spaces for children and adults, state-of-the-art recreation and healthcare facilities for seniors, and to improve and expand the Gratitude and Honor Memorial remembering the fallen heroes of the war on terrorism. Melissa is also a supporter of active and public transportation in Irvine.

The daughter of a Korean War combat veteran, Melissa is an active advocate for increased City support for veterans, particularly those recently returning from deployment and has called for the creation of a Irvine Veterans Advisory Committee, so that veterans have a strong voice of their own in City government.  She has also been honored by the Orange County Veterans Memorial Park for her “steadfast support for the Southern California Veterans Cemetery.”

Melissa lives with her husband, Dr. Michael Fox, their teenage son, Max, and their Siberian Husky, Scout, in the Northpark community of Irvine.

Join us as we honor a great community activist and hear her plans for the future of city of Irvine.
